Andrea Woods serves as the Children’s Ministry Elementary Coordinator for the Spring Grove Church location. She grew up in Waukegan, Illinois, and spent many summers serving as a church camp counselor and lifeguard. Andrea accepted the Lord as a freshman in high school. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies. After college, she married her husband, Alan, and pursued a career in retail until God called her to change paths and return to school.

She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University, becoming a third-generation educator. Andrea taught 5th grade in Waukegan and currently teaches 4th grade at Big Hollow Elementary School. During her time at Big Hollow, she became a National Board Certified Teacher and received the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Her life verse is Isaiah 41:10:
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.”

Andrea has been married to her husband, Alan, for 34 years. They have one daughter, a niece, and several nephews and great-nephews. She collects children’s books, enjoys planning extended field trips (family vacations), and appreciates a good cup of coffee. Andrea is passionate about reaching children with the Gospel and looks forward to Vacation Bible School every year!
